I took my undergrad degree in Biological Sciences in 1993, Masters and Ph. D. degrees in Ecology in 1999 and in 2004. I’ve been studying cetaceans since 1993 inSao Paulo and got involved with a research team engaged in cetacean studies in the Antarctic since 1998. I’m interested in cetacean conservation biology. Débora Freitas da Silva I took my undergrad degree in Biology at UNESP Rio Claro in 2008 and currently I’m a Masters' student in Zoology at the same University. I study reproductive aspects of male and female franciscana dolphins, Pontoporia blainvillei, such as age at sexual maturity, ovulation rate and reproductive seasonality. These aspects are studied through the analysis of macroscopic and by histological examination of the collected gonads and determining the age of dead franciscanas incidentally caught by fishery activities in southern São PauloState and northern ParanáState. I took my undergrad degree in Ecology at UNESP Rio Claro in 2008 and currently I’m a Masters' student in Zoology at the same University. I study home range of Guiana dolphins, Sotalia guianensis, in southern São PauloState. This research is based on field observations, with application of the photo-identification technique, and subsequent identification of ranging patterns of Guiana dolphins using the kernel density estimator in GIS.

I took my undergrad degree in Biology at UFSCar in 2009 and currently I’m a Masters’ student in Zoology at UNESP Rio Claro. I study quali-quantitative aspects of feeding habits of franciscana dolphins,Pontoporia blainvillei, incidentally caught in gillnets of fishery activities in southern São PauloState and northern ParanáState. I’m analyzing possible differences among seasons and age groups and between sexes. These aspects are studied through the identification of prey items found in stomachs contents.
